fresh air

Sometimes, you just need a change. This week is was time for me to make that change.

I cut off all of my hair.

I'll be honest: I was very nervous about doing this. It's just hair and it grows back, but I had no idea how I would look with a pixie cut. The last time I made a drastic change to my do, I got bangs and that was a huge mistake. For years after that, I sort of played it safe, but over the past month or so, I felt like it was time to throw caution to the wind and go for it. Go big (or short, rather) or go home.

I was worried that my stylist would try to talk me out of doing it. I mean, I have a LOT of hair. Had.

She was all for it, though. She didn't ask me if I was sure; she just started cutting with confidence.

As I watched my hair fall to the floor in chunks, I no longer felt fear. Instead, I smiled. It felt liberating. From what, I'm not sure. I'm still figuring that out, but I can tell you one thing:

It feels good to be free.

your new pixie cut is { AWESOME }
i think the drastic change might have something to do with whats going on in your life - drastic hair changes always do...not sure why - its just a law of life i guess.
nevertheless, embrace the feeling of being free - you look gorgeous.

It Is What It Is said...

For some reason and I'm not quite sure how, when, or where it starts, women are conditioned to believe their appearance, beauty, self-esteem even, are somehow tied to their hair (style or cut). Our hair is like its own appendage and we spend a lot of time grooming, picking products and styling aids.

I have fine but very long and thick hair. Now that I have a grabby infant and hot flashes, I've considered going short, but at my age, I also know that short is hard to pull off with my shaped face (round) and would then require maintenance that I don't have time for (to maintain a short cut, there are more frequent trips to the salon, something I have finally cut down to once every two months).

On you, though, it looks great and I can imagine and am jealous of the liberation.

Looks great! I have been so close to doing this over the last year. My hairdresser told me 'No' in May. I'm still tempted.

Never commented here before, but you look AMAZING. I'm tempted to take your picture to my stylist, and say, "Make me look like her." :)
