good-bye, google reader

As I'm sure you've now heard, Google Reader is shutting down. This is sad news in the blogosphere - especially for me, since Google Reader is the one way I keep track of which posts I've read and which posts I haven't.

Journalists are already publishing lists of some good alternatives (see here and here), but I wanted to remind you that you can keep up with my blog in a couple of different ways:

1. You can "like" my page on Facebook. I always link to my blog posts. I also post news items and other info on my page that I don't necessarily post here.

2. You can follow me on Twitter. In addition to tweeting links to my new blog posts, I also tweet infertility and adoption-related news links.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find my alternative to Google Reader. Sniff sniff.

So frustrating! It's going to be a pain to figure out a new way to keep up with everyone. Blah.

I have you now over in NetVibes. Which is really slow to update. I'm hoping it's just the growing pains of increased traffic.

Facebook and Twitter are great, but they move so quickly that I miss too much. Gah.

I am bummed, too, because no reader is as efficient or real time as Google...it is almost instantaneous. I am hoping that NetVibes is the answer and I guess we'll have some time to run parallel to see.
