In the past 9 days, I've gone from being blah about the holidays to positive about the new year to a 10,000 foot drop into the depths of depression. I don't want to get into the reasons why on here, but the last few days have been particularly bad. If this is any indication of how the rest of the year will go, I'd like to press fast forward now.
To deflect any real discussion about my feelings, I am going to try and write about something that makes me happy: the nursery. The last time I wrote about the baby's room, it looked a little like this. Most of you know about the saga with that crib and how we ended up with a different one. But here is what the room looks like now:
It's a pretty crazy transformation. I'm glad we ended up going with the lighter colored furniture. It makes the room look brighter and bigger, and it brings out the light gray of the walls.
The only thing we still would like to do is get some kind of shelving for the walls to hold books - maybe in the corner between the changing table and the couch. We also still have a few prints to hang above the couch and the changing table, and we need to get a curtain for the window. And yes, we do have bedding for the crib, but I'm waiting to wash it and put it on the crib until we actually have a baby.
So there you have it. Hopefully next time I post pictures of the room, there's a sleeping baby in the crib.

As for the person who is bringing you down... they are TOTALLY in the wrong. I hope that you guys are able to communicate soon. That person has A LOT of apologizing to do.
