making progress

Wednesday was good. Thursday, I hit a wall. Yesterday was better.

The recovery from this lap has been significantly different from my last. With my last, I was more alert, but the gas and constipation pains were UNBEARABLE. I also had significant bleeding with the last surgery. With this lap, my main issues have been nausea, pain in my left ovary (probably from the stitches IN my ovary... just a guess), and fatigue. No bleeding whatsoever, and minimal gas and constipation. The fatigue isn't fun. It hits me very suddenly. I'll be fine one minute, and the next I feel lightheaded and I HAVE to lay down.

I managed to get out of the house for about 10 minutes yesterday and take a (very slow) walk around the neighborhood with Joey and Danica. Today our goal is to get me out for a longer period of time. We're going shopping for comfy pants that I can wear to work next week, since my belly is currently swollen to the point where I cannot see my feet, and probably grab some dinner. Tomorrow we'll go grocery shopping, so that will get me out of the house yet again before I have to return to work on Monday.

Progress. That's all that matters.

Progress is good. Glad things are going a bit better. Slow movements are good and making sure you don't overdo it.

I can't believe you're going back to work so soon after the lap, and that you're actually going outside and walking. Wow.
Like Rebecca says, don't overdo it.

Oh Katie, I'm sorry that you're still in such pain and discomfort. I really hope that thanks to this surgery and this new doctor you are pain-free in the future.

Rest up and feel better and keep letting Joey and Danica take care of you!

I'm glad that you're taking it easy. You must surely be desperate to relieve yourself of the cabin fever. I would be climbing walls! I sincerely hope you continue to progress as well as you have been. Here is to looking forward to the future and you being in far less pain as I know the past few months have been horribly painful. Many hugs.

Recovering just sucks... sorry you even have to go through all of this. I agree on the don't push it comments. Take care of yourself :)

I overdid it too quickly after my fibroid surgery last year and should have even started back with 1/2 days or something. I was exhausted for about 4 weeks when I should have rested more in the first 2 weeks... just listen to your body. It will tell you when it's too much. Good luck!

Just keep going. Oh, and know some fertility doc is waiting to tell you each one of those stitches could turn into a wonderful raggedy ann child...
