Aside from my lumpy boob, everything else about yesterday's visit was fine. I'll get my pap results in a week or so. My gyno was very interested in all things TTC. I told him my whole history from start to finish, leaving out no details. I included every symptom I'd ever experienced. His suggestion? He thinks I need to get a second opinion from a different RE about possibly getting a LAP (since my RE is so against doing one).
So it looks like January won't be IUI#3 after all. Instead, on Monday the 18th we will be consulting with a new RE. I don't mind being in a holding pattern again for this month if it means we might get some answers. We'll see what happens.
Back to the lumpy boob: I'm feeling okay today. Last night was a sleepless, restless night, but I'm trying my best to stay in a positive place. There's nothing I can do at this point anyway but sit back and just be. It's out of my hands.

I think the new consult is a good idea. you know what they say about opinions and who's to say your RE isn't being completely opinionated or close-minded. And I hear you about willing to trade time for some additional certainty or clarity. I just read about the lump issue - please try not to worry, lumps are so ubiquitous. My mom and her sister almost can't go through a mamogram without some lump or another requiring a follow-up visit. it's like cavities. I personally have lots of lumps so I have the problem that doctors conclude I just have lumpy breasts and don't really go any further. I think it's good that they're being cautious, but try not to worry. Just take solace in the fact that you're doing everything you can to make sure you're healthy!
It might be a blessing in disguise that you found this new gyno and that you're going to be heading to the new RE. It can never hurt to have a second opinion and it may just get you the answers that you need. I'm really hopeful for you about this!
Hold on tight. You only have a few days left until Friday. (((HUGS)))
I think it's a good thing to second opinions, and I hope this consult with the new RE goes well. Email afterwards and let me know. xxoo.
I'm a big fan of second (hell, even third) opinions. Especially when it's concerning the LAP - you really should have one done. Especially if your RE is suspecting Endo. And IF you have Endo, then IUI's are a whole different ballgame with success rates (they're abysmal) and you don't want to waste your baby-makin' money!
Thinking of you ...
Ditto everything Kelly said. This might turn out to be just what you needed to get to the root of what's going. I hope this RE has some answers or at least is willing to go looking for them. I'm thinking about you. ((hugs))
I think second opinions are almost always a good idea! I'm glad you talked to your ob/gyn and that you feel good about following the advice!
Hang in there....Friday will be here soon! ((hugs))
Second opinions are always good. If I've learned anything about doctors during my dad's decade long battle with cancer, it's that they mostly just make educated guesses.
Why doesn't your RE want to do a lap?
I'm glad everything else went well and like everyone said, it could be a good thing to get a second opinion. You never know I guess. I've been thinking about geting a lap too. Anyways I'll be thinking about you, good luck Fri!
I think a second opinion is a really good idea! You don't want to waste your money and time on something that won't work.
My RE is also very against doing Laps. She says that she will ONLY do them for pain relief, which I was a little shocked about. I'm seriously considering getting a second opinion, too. Did your RE give you a reason for not doing one?
Thinking of you, and good luck on Friday.
I'm getting a second opinion this month too so let's hope we make some progress! I hope you get some rest. You have a good attitude about it being out of your control but I know that it's not what you need right now. Thinking of you.
(((HUGS))) Katie! I think it can never hurt to have another opinion. Thinking of you & hoping you get some good news on Friday!
Can't wait for the 18th! A second opinion isn't a bad thing. And yay for your gyno for being so interested.
My RE is against doing a LAP because he firmly believes that endo does not directly cause IF. No joke. He said he'll do it to relieve pain, but he doesn't think it will ultimately help me conceive.
Definitely seems like a good idea to get another opinion. It seems like your RE is a little behind the times.
Thinking of you for Friday.
